for Literacy Development

Our Mission

Is to provide a vehicle for addressing the literacy education needs of the children, teachers, and schools in the EKU service region.   In collaboration with the EKUWP, EKU faculty, and area teachers and schools, the APLD will work to better prepare the children of our service region to be participating and contributing members in a literate society.

Our Vision

APLD has a full complement of university and public school partners who are devoted to addressing the literacy needs in our service region.  Together the partners will establish and implement an agenda which will focus on meeting these literacy needs.
